GAP for EPR | Exploring Extended Producer Responsibility for the Construction Sector

Описание к видео GAP for EPR | Exploring Extended Producer Responsibility for the Construction Sector

The EU’s construction industry consumes nearly 50% of all extracted materials and generates almost 40% of the EU’s waste. Although nearly 95% of building materials are recyclable, less than 5% of their actual resource value is currently being preserved. Could Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) serve as a catalyst for sustainable construction? This webinar discusses this question by delving into the critical aspects of EPR and its implication for the construction industry.

Agenda:

• Setting the Scene – Andrew Brown, OECD
• The Discussion Paper “Extended Producer Responsibility in the construction sector. Exploring the potential.” – Lisa Graaf, BPIE
• Panel Discussion and Q&A:
o Mona Mohammed, UNEP
o Jérôme d'Assigny, Valobat
o Jonna Byskata, Kingspan
o Prof. Dr. Dirk Schwede, TH Lübeck

The Global Action Partnership for Extended Producer Responsibility, the “GAP for EPR”, is an international partnership established between GIZ, WWF, UNEP, and OECD. It receives circular economy support from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and is hosted by the PREVENT Waste Alliance.

The views and opinions expressed in this webinar do not reflect the positions of the core partners of GAP for EPR, nor of PREVENT Waste Alliance members or official policy positions of the international organisations and governments involved.
