Then, mix a small amount of soap with warm water in a bucket and wash the Trex deck with a soft brush to get all the remaining dirt from the embossing. Rinse the surface again until you have removed all the soap and dirt. For removing ground-in dirt, grime, pigment staining, and rust stains, you can apply a product to brighten the deck. Use deck-cleaning products safe for use on Trex products by searching "Eco Friendly Composite Deck Cleaner." Apply the cleaning agent to the stain and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with a hose. For removing food, oil or grease stains, remove the source of the stain as soon as you can. Rinse the area with hot water and use a cleaning agent designed to restore Trex decks. Test the product in a small inconspicuous area to ensure it won't compromise the color of the deck. Rinse the area again. It's recommended to proactively clean your Trex deck at least twice a year, in spring and fall, before stains appear or re-appear. Composites that receive routine moisture or are in areas known for mold spores should be cleaned more often. Abrasions, scuff marks, stains from leaves, stains from wood tannins, and water spots will disappear with natural weathering within 12 to 16 weeks. It's important to note that you should not use colored chalk lines on your Trex deck, never sand your Trex deck to remove stains, and do not use a pressure washer higher than 1,500 PSI or spray any closer than 12 inches from the surface when cleaning Trex products.
