Our first stop was at Gujarat Sadan, a must-visit for any Gujarati food lover. Arriving in the afternoon, we were greeted with the comforting warmth of chai and a spread of light snacks. Over a brief conversation with the owner, we indulged in the flavors of thepla, aloo bonda, and chai—a simple yet deeply satisfying combination that truly captures the essence of Gujarati homestyle cooking.

Next, we made our way to a Navaratri event, where we were delighted to stumble upon some classic Gujarati staples like dhokla and idra. The festive spread also included modern twists—there was a jamun shot and a variety of veg sandwiches. But the real surprise came from a group of young students showcasing their confectionery skills with new-age bakery treats. Their Nutella injection cake was nothing short of divine.

From there, we headed to Kamala Nagar, where we discovered two iconic Gujarati snack shops. Here, we savored the flavors of dhokla and khandvi chaat, both of which brought a nostalgic taste of Gujarat to the bustling streets of North Delhi.

We wrapped up our food tour with a hearty dinner back at Gujarat Sadan. The meal was a gratifying homestyle spread, featuring all the basics you'd expect from a traditional Gujarati thali. Each dish was simple, wholesome, and filled with the warmth of a home-cooked meal.
