My Northern Lights Photos on WCMH-4 Columbus, Ohio 1997

This is the newscast from Columbus, Ohio back in the late 1990s (I have to research the date) when my Northern Lights photos got on the news. I walked outside to close the garage and the lights were amazing -- curtains of green and red. Amazing. I ran in and got my camera and tripod, and "took a guess" at a variety of exposures on my only roll of film. I went to the Meijer photo department (5 minutes from my place) about 20 minutes before they closed, and they were nice enough to rush the pictures. They turned out! I called WCMH and asked if they would have a use for them. "Sure! Can you get them down here within the hour?" I drove down to the station. They took the pictures and shot video stills to use in the broadcast. I met "Captain" the TV station dog and they let me sit on the Morning News set off to the side to watch the broadcast. Fun! A few years later, my new next door neighbor was a lighting and control switcher engineer there, and I visited a few times. Jimmy Crum "Dean of Ohio Sports" was a true character. Weatherman, Jym Ganahl, is still one of my favorite meteorologists (I was a geography major). Doug Adair and Angela Pace were super-nice. Sooo... that's twice I've gotten Northern Lights pictures on TV. The other was a few months ago in Milwaukee.
