Supreme Court Rejects The PIL Challenging The formation Of UCC, It Will Not Scrap Out UCC Panel

In the recent hearing for the plea against the uniform civil code, supreme Court rejects the PIL challenging the formation of a committee to examine the feasibility of implementation of UCCin Uttarakhand. The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a petition challenging the formation of committees to investigate the issue of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) formed by states such as Gujarat and Uttarakhand, dealing a major blow to the anti-UCC lobby. According to the Supreme Court, the states have the authority to enact legislation in this area. In response to the Supreme Court's decision, senior Advocate Swapnil Kothari stated, "There is nothing wrong with the formation of committees because it falls under the executive power of the state under Article 162. Committee formation is not unconstitutional. The state is authorized to do so by the Constitution.
