Learning songs by ear VS Ear Training - bass practice

There are 6 short songs that I learn by ear.Snippets!!
Learning the beginning of a popular song is a way of internalising the intervals. I took it a step further and learned the whole song... well sort of.

How do you learn songs, or what songs do you use to learn intervals?

I was just poking around without thought of what the interval might actually be... so I'm on a course of learning how to use Solfège (solfa).
