In dinosaur news this week: A new, giant, Pachyrhinosaurus (ceratopsian) skull nicknamed “Big Sam” was found in Northern Alberta, Canada; There’s a new silesaur, Gondwanax paraisensis, from Southern Brazil; There’s a new tyrannosaurid species, Labocania aguillonae, from Northern Mexico; There’s a new euornithean bird, Shuilingornis angelai, is one of the earliest known birds with semi-aquatic features

This week's dinosaur of the day is Kwanasaurus
Silesaur that lived in the Late Triassic in what is now Colorado, U.S. (Eagle Basin of the Chinle Formation)
Reconstruction looks similar to Silesaurus
Walked on all fours, had a long tail, a somewhat long neck, long head
Claws on the feet
Also reconstructed with a skin flap under the chin
Had a beak
Estimated to be about the size of a medium sized dog
About four to five feet long (1.2 to 1.5 m) long, and half the length is the tail
Type species is Kwanasaurus williamparkeri
Found in an area known for Late Triassic dinosaur fossils and other reptiles
Silesaurids are the most abundant dinosauromorphs in the Eagle Basin
Holotype includes a partial upper jaw
Other fossils found include multiple lower jaws, teeth, parts of the hips, thigh bones, and an arm bone
Took 20 years to collect the fossils (fragile material, and hard to excavate)
Northernmost, youngest silesaurid found in North America
