Hope you all enjoy my cover of the Athletic theme from Super Mario World! Hang on, wait a minute!

Ever since I first heard it, Cuphead quickly became one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Most of the jazz band boss battle pieces are dark or harsh, and even a few of the quick-tempo ragtime Run and Gun tunes are in minor keys. However, Funfair Fever is super upbeat, positive, and extremely fun to listen to -- making it one of the absolute standouts in my opinion.

This cover would not be possible without the help from David Russell on the extremely tricky piano part! We took Funfair Fever at its original tempo, which meant some extremely intense playing between me whistling and David's piano-ing. It was also tricky to pick every note out by ear, but with ragtime you can sort of predict the chordal and intervallic patterns. Also, video-wise coincidentally the two "solid color shirt plus plaid short-sleeve jacket" combinations I own happen to be the same colors as Cuphead and Mugman.
