Olivia, a senior at the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley, remembers walking in as a junior and finding a sense of community among like-minded students. “I found a lot of people with common interests, a lot of people who were just open and ready to be friends.”

The School of Environmental Studies (SES) is a magnet school for juniors and seniors. It’s a unique partnership between Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools, the City of Apple Valley, and the State of Minnesota (Minnesota Zoo). The school is designed with smaller, more effective learning communities that provide authentic experiences focused on the environment.
