“The most inspiring moment was seeing so many African women entrepreneurs like myself—passionately sharing their projects and receiving genuine support from Chinese partners,” said Makena from Kenya.

Empowering women in innovation and entrepreneurship has always been a core value of the C Star Program. By May 2025, C Star has supported 55 young entrepreneurs—mainly from Africa—to visit China for training and exchange, with women making up 40% of participants. In this year’s “Youth Entrepreneurship Award” and “Social Impact Award,” 7 out of 10 winners were women.

From fashion design to fintech, environmental protection to healthcare, these determined women blend Chinese experience with African realities, planting the seeds of innovation back home. “Many of my business ideas were validated during visits to Chinese companies,” said Keturah from Nigeria. “Digital concepts still emerging in Africa are already part of daily life here.”

Their journeys are proof of resilience—and a declaration that ShePower is shaping the future of Africa’s economy. As Bams from Cameroon put it: “Every choice I make, every business I build, is to reshape how the world sees Africa.”
