Aired on Friday 24th of April 2015 on S4C, this brand new documentary celebrates the story of the Super Furry Animals with exclusive access to the bands archive vaults.

The one-hour documentary Super Furry Animals: The Furry Years, looks back over their career presented through stunning archive footage. It also features exclusive commentary from the band members Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Guto Pryce, Cian Ciaran a Dafydd Ieuan - as they prepare for the gigs.

With some rare archive footage and classic Furry performances, we'll celebrate the extraordinary story of the group that has had over twenty top 40 hits and a string of highly acclaimed, top 10 albums. The documentary includes interviews, archive pictures, home-movie footage from the band’s personal collections and live performances from Glastonbury Festival, Top of the Pops and Later with Jools Holland.

Lead singer of the Super Furry Animals, Gruff Rhys says, "Here's a document of our twenty furry years together. Was it all a hallucination? No, it seems that it really did happen."

The documentary will give an insight into a band that introduced Welsh songs and music to international audiences. The members of the group will recall some of their unique antics such as buying a tank and equipping it with a sound-system and going on tour with 60-foot inflatable monsters.

2015 marks twenty years since the Super Furry Animals signed their contract with the famous record company Creation Records, and fifteen years since the release of their successful Welsh language album Mwng.

On 1 May 2015, Mwng was re-released and on the same day, their first tour since 2009 kicked off with three dates in Cardiff. The following week, they performed in Glasgow, Manchester and the O2 Academy in Brixton, London.
