I like to figure out technical stuff. So today, I hooked up my Akai MPC Live 2 to my PreSonus StudioLive Series 3 mixer via usb, and sent each track from my MPC to separate outputs on the mixer.

Kick - channel 1, snare - channel 2, etc.

I then hooked up my mixer to my 2012 MacBook Pro via Ethernet using the AVB protocol. Now I can route audio back and forth on 64 channels via Ethernet to my mixer.

In the end, my mpc sends audio via usb to my mixer, then I have Ableton Live or any other DAW like Pro Tools, Luna, Logic Pro, StudioLive, etc., receiving audio via AVB. In Ableton I selected my Mac Ethernet as an input. 64 channels!

I then sent the audio out to my studiolive ethernet bus and went back to my mixer and selected channels 9 and 10 as inputs for my Ableton session (network input).
