This is a glow bug, an incredibly simple yet effective fly pattern. If you are looking to get into fly tying, this would be a good place to start to learn thread control. Even if it does not turn out perfect, you will still have a pattern that fish will eat. That said, the trick to getting the perfect round shape is to cut the egg yarn perfectly flat! Even if you are a seasoned fly tyer, this is no pattern to ignore if you are putting together an egg fly box.
