This was the first full day of our trip to Kauai. We stayed on the North Shore in Princeville, and woke up early for our 6:30am parking reservation at Ha'ena State Park. Driving around the island is incredible in it's own right so we have a ton of shots from the passenger seat of our rented van. The 2 mile hike in was, muddy, rocky, and beautiful. Hanakapi'ai Beach feels like taking a 3D tour through a painting, but the kicker was finding the sea cave on the far side of the beach. The weather and the views on the hike back were incredible and we stopped to walk around the shops in Hanalei before eating at Kalypso, which ended up being our favorite meal of the whole trip
