Capoocan is a coastal municipality in the province of Leyte.

The municipality has a land area of 185.40 square kilometers or 71.58 square miles which constitutes 2.93% of Leyte's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 33,721. This represented 1.90% of the total population of Leyte province, or 0.74% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 182 inhabitants per square kilometer or 471 inhabitants per square mile.
