The Force Tamper by The Rising Force Kitchens! Quick Review and Anti-Rattle Mod!

This was my first impression of the Force Tamper as I learned it's pros and cons!

I like it, and while I generally preferred non weight calibrated self-leveling tampers like my Decent brand v3 because you have more feedback and feel the compression of the coffee, rather than weight calibrated ones like the Normcore (utilizing springs) where you get less or no feedback. The Force punching mechanism seems to do a good job at compressing the coffee bed confidently.

I believe the vibration also causes coffee from the ledges of the basket to fall off and get captured underneath in the tampers crevice so that particular downside of having to occasionally blow or brush out the extra coffee in there has a benefit of keeping your Espresso machine cleaner as a result of that coffee being captured!

Definitely makes tamping easy and satisfying.

Mechanism does make a sound and isn't quite as smooth as Decents when you push it (like a rubbing friction noise before it does the force thing) but it's not something that bothers me that much. So far, I am preferring using the Force, but it's possible once the novelty wears off, I might want to go back to the Decent, but I doubt it.

The PuqPress Q2 I had previously was neat but took up more precious table space and did make a little mess when I over-filled the basket a bit. It also needs to be configured differently for different portafilter holders but most people would only use one, I'd think.
