Robert Shenkkan’s All the Way is a gripping look at President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s year as an accidental president following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Johnson maneuvers to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and sets the stage for circumstances to be right for his convention nomination and ultimate election win to the nation’s highest job. South Coast Repertory’s production (Sept. 2-Oct. 3, 2016) is directed by Artistic Director Marc Masterson on the Segerstrom Stage. The cast includes Hugo Armstrong as LBJ and Larry Bates as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bates and Armstrong are two of the 18 actors bringing to life more than 60 historical figures, including FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, Sen. Hubert Humphrey, Lady Bird Johnson, Coretta Scott King and Washington Post Publisher Katharine Graham. The cast for All the Way also includes Matthew Arkin, Jordan Bellow, Robert Curtis Brown, JD Cullum, Gregg Daniel, Nike Doukas, Bo Foxworth , Lynn Gallagher, Christian Henley, Hal Landon Jr., Tracey A.
