Kotachi and Kyoko died in the despair arc. Kotachi got killed in a mission and Mikan wasn't able to help cure Kyoko's poison. So after the killing game is over Kokichi decided to have a new start in life by restarting and creating a new identity for himself. So he left Towa and went somewhere faraway, without telling anyone. On his way he met Alice and Klee. She teaches him alchemy. He stayed because of Klee and she kinda filled the two sibling sized hole in his heart. He is considered missing in Towa. The star mark was given to him by Alice. The marking is like a invisible body armor so no bad accidents will happen to him during his experiments and it heals his physical scars quicker. Teyvat is a continent, and visions still existed in this au btw. But only those who lives in Teyvat has them.
