Minitrains HOe HOn30 OO9 model railway Schlossgartenbahn Greif and coaches

A short video showing my recently acquired Minitrains Greif loco and Schlossgartenbahn coaches. Also appearing is a Minitrains Decauville coach and a comparison with an Egger-Bahn/Jouef Decauville coach.

This was filmed on a work in progress HOe layout. The trackwork is Peco, the points and curves being 9 inch radius.

I was a little disappointed at the quality of assembly of the Minitrains stock. The cab of the Greif loco fell off as it did not fit onto the chassis properly and one of the handrails on the tender was also hanging off. One of the bogies on the Minitrains Decauville coach fell apart. These bogies are glued together and the "bearings" for the axles appear to be too big which, oddly enough, makes them far from free running. All fairly easy to put right (except for the over-sized bearings) but come on Minitrains, for the price I would have expected better.

The Greif loco, like Minitrains locos in general, is a superb runner straight from the box and the Schlossgartenbahn coaches run freely.
