You tried to live with them. You really did. But they made your life a living hell. You weren't accepted anywhere, and as time went by, you came to realize that.
You'd left when you could. You weren't planning on ever going back. But you did.
You'd heard reports coming through villages nearby. The Black Ones, they called them. Powerful, magical, and unbeatable.
You could beat them. You did before. Lone ones you'd encountered in your travels. But the few you'd managed to fight had taught you a great deal about their magic. You could beat them.
The people back in your village heard they were coming. They didn't ask you to come back and help them.
But you did anyway.
