This past week Thursday marked four years since 19-year-old UCT student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, was raped and killed. She was attacked by a post office worker, Luyanda Botha, at a post office in Claremont in Cape Town while trying to pick up a parcel. He confessed to her murder and was sentenced to three life terms in the Western Cape High Court. The brutality of her killing led to widespread outrage. The murder sparked marches across the country under the banner #Am I Next?
