Rock Climbing in the FAROE ISLANDS | Climbing a 120m Sea Stack

Join us on an unforgettable adventure as we tackle the imposing 120-meter high sea stack, Geitisskoradrang, in the breath-taking Faroe Islands! 🌊🏔️

Climbing Team:
I'm Matt from Kernow Coasteering, and together with my friend Ben, we embarked on a week of thrilling adventures in the Faroe Islands. We were honored to join this expedition led by our Faroese friend and adventurer, Torik Rouah. Our climbing team also included the skilled Thomas and Kaj Eli.

Climbing Details:
This was the second ascent of Geitisskoradrang, following the original route. I led pitch two and made a traverse to free climb it, facing challenges like poor rock quality, minimal protection opportunities, and wet moss-covered surfaces. Kaj Eli took on pitch three, drilling and placing bolts to create a bolt ladder for the ascent. The climb was tough but incredibly rewarding!

Insta360 X3: Mounted on a backpack, offering immersive 'fly-on-the-wall' climbing footage.
Purpose:
This video is a testament to the spirit of adventure travel and a tribute to the natural beauty of the Faroe Islands. We aim to inspire others to explore and appreciate this incredible destination.

The adventure began with an epic boat ride to Geitisskoradrang, navigating through massive sea caves that set the tone for our thrilling climb. The boat ride alone was an adventure worth experiencing!

Personal Touches:
After free climbing pitch two, we discovered the bolt ladder created by the first ascentionists. My unintentional route variation led to an unexpected achievement—I managed to 'free' pitch two, adding a unique twist to our climb.
