Footage acquire over 1 week at the start of January. I'm quite rusty & am learning, but am really enjoying the Scrapper!

====================================

Q: Why are all clips from Edge of The Mists (EoTM)?
A: Like many others, I've had a hard time finding fights in the new Borderlands. This leaves EoTM or Eternal Battlegrounds (EB). I don't enjoy EB much since it is so condensed. In EoTM, I can manage the zergs better and also enjoy the terrain available. I look forward to the upcoming WvW improvements and hope it will enable better Borderlands roaming.

Q: Some of these are enemies are pretty bad, what gives?
A: This is part of my outnumbered series. If these enemies were amazing, outnumbered fights wouldn't be possible (at least not in only a few days of footage). Still, I personally enjoy the challenge of managing multiple threats at once, so I present this as a fun commentary of how I go about that. I have collected some good 1v1's against better enemies, but I'll save that for a different video that is less focused on outnumbered.

Q: Why aren't you using sneak gyro's reveal more?
A: I should be! I haven't played too much Scrapper yet, and am still working on ingraining scrapper's expanded toolset into my normal engineer patterns. While a lot of Scrapper has integrated, the reveal in particular hasn't become second-nature for me just yet. There are definitely spots in this video where reveal would have been a great idea.

Q: Do these builds work in sPvP?
A: Celestial hammer does work in sPvP, though the meta version does not usually involve the utilities I am running. While this build does work and is enjoyable, I'd recommend checking out Metabattle and other great sPvP streamers (like Five Gauge) for better info.

Q: What are your armor/weapon skins & dyes?
A: Helm = Thief class hood, Shoulders = Forgeman, Chest = Bladed Jerkin, Gloves = Carapace Vambraces, Legs = Stride of Koda, Boots = Leystone Boots, Back = Initiate's Pack, Hammer = Fix-r-Upper. Dyes: Shadow Abyss, Pyre, Harrowing Maroon, Heirloom.

Q: What about Daredevil? Are you / will you play it? Daredevil vs. Scrapper?
A: Unfortunately, Daredevil is not a class I enjoy. My enjoyment with thief was with stealth and deception. Sadly, stealth-style thief gameplay has lost a ton of survivability and the class has been moved much more toward heavy-evade for survival. Evade can certainly be effective, however, I personally don't care for it. For the time being, my enjoyment is with Scrapper as it has a much wider toolset to manage fights and I enjoy the overall greater breadth (more buttons, combo options, sustain, survival).

Q: Why Celestial over Viper? Why not more condition duration?
A: This is primarily because I already have 30% condi duration just from food (Koi Cakes) and Traveler Runes. From Firearms I also have another 33% to burn via Incendiary Powder and 33% to bleed via Serrated Steel. I care most about reaching 50% burn and bleed duration, and this accomplishes that. My big condi hits are from Incendiary Powder burn (4s), Elixir Gun #1 (4s)... both of which gain a flat 2s extra from 50% condi duration. Now, a bit of Viper can have some value for Fire Bomb (3s) since I'm at 63% burn duration... an extra 3% could take it to 5s instead of 4s; I didn't choose to invest in that, but I think it would also be a valid option.
