Описание к видео Suwabe Junichi Bakumatsu Rock interview

In case you don't know, Bakumatsu Rock is an epicness, it's a video game, manga and anime series where the characters' clothes explode when they perform.

1:11= 大好物 (dai kōbutsu) can be translated as: (one's) favorite food ;)

8:31= Bakumatsu means the end of the Edo period, literally "end of the curtain", are the final years of the Edo period when the Tokugawa shogunate came to an end.

8:34= before the long explanation let's see 2 examples of atejis: they write 'Ultra Soul' with the kanji 超魂 but is pronounced ウルトラソウル (Urutorasouru), same with 'Paradise', the kanji is 楽園 but the pronunciation is パラダイス (Paradaisu).

**Ateji: kanji used as a phonetic symbol, instead of for the meaning; phonetic-equivalent character; substitute character; kanji used for their meaning, irrespective of reading
Wikipedia definition: ateji (当て字, 宛字 or あてじ, literally "assigned characters") primarily refers to kanji used phonetically to represent native or borrowed words, without regard to the meaning of the underlying characters. The term ateji is also used for the opposite process, writing words using kanji for meaning only, without regard to the reading. For example, sushi is often written with the ateji 寿司.

9:41= A balance between his appearance and 'passion'.

12:41= you know, because Perry Jr. uses one.

14:42= opening of a country (e.g. Japan) to the world.

15:17 btw that's not my doing, they misspelled "we're" lol
