In this third session of our Science of Reading video series, Literacy Partners explores how families can help children grow their vocabulary through playful, everyday interactions. From describing things during routines to asking curious questions or talking in your home language, each conversation helps children connect words with meaning and expand their “word bank.”

You’ll see how vocabulary—one of the most important parts of learning to read—can grow naturally when we make language a part of play. Learning doesn’t always look like school, but it’s happening every time we talk, laugh, and wonder together.
