The current Legionella legislation in the Netherlands has been in place for over 20 years and to determine whether the legislation is still in accordance with the latest scientific knowledge, a literature study was performed and advices whether specific topics in the Legionella legislation should be changed, were given to the Dutch government. One of the issues studied was whether Legionella legislation should focus on Legionella spp. or Legionella pneumophila only.
