5 lakh low cost houses was an ambitious target set by PTI in their manifesto. In this regard prime minister imran khan has established naya pakistan housing authority which will be responsible for constructing low cost houses for middle class.
In july 2020 Prime Minister announced the phase 2 of naya pakistan housing scheme in which 3 lakh subsidy will be given to first one lakh houses built under naya pakistan housing scheme.
Moreover banks will provide housing Loan at 5% and 7% for 5marla and 10 marla respectively. In this regard banks has given clear instructions to set aside 5% of thier portfolio for the housing industry.
Upto 30 lakh loan will be given on 5 marla and upto 50 lakh will be given on 10 marla houses.
Foreclosure laws has been introduced for the first time in the history of Pakistan.
Source of income will not be asked if someone invest in naya pakistan housing program till 31 December 2020.
