Clemson basketball was caught totally off guard vs. McNeese. The Tigers shot awful for the first 30 minutes of this game. At halftime, Clemson only had scored 13 points. Chase Hunter and Ian Schieffelin, two of Clemson's highest scorers, each had no points during the first half. A late game scoring run made this game closer, but the Tigers could never quite catch up to McNeese, losing 69-67, 3/20/25.
Clemson nation has to be in total shock. I mean, what the heck happened? How and why did this team enable themselves to lose to a mid major in McNeese?
Several mid major teams like McNeese are better than many think. I'm sure Clemson prepared well for them, but they were still obviously caught off guard during this upset loss.
Despite the basketball's team's defeat, Clemson nation still has a great spring to look forward to, with the baseball and softball teams faring well. The Tigers' baseball and softball squads both have very good chances of reaching the Men's and Women's College World Series, respectably.
