Middie Meets Johnnie: The Annual Croquet Match for the Annapolis Cup

From Maryland Public Television's Emmy Award winning series "Outdoors Maryland", "Middie Meets Johnnie" is a segment featuring the annual croquet match between the Naval Academy and neighboring St. Johns College, in Annapolis, MD.

I was the lead videographer on this segment, shot in the Spring of 2008, and originally aired in November 2008.

An interesting fact, as we pulled up and parked at St. John's the morning of the match, it was pouring rain. Folks walking back from the lawn waved us off as said the event was cancelled due to the weather. Bummer. We nearly loaded up and returned to Owings Mills when the rain broke off, and my curiosity got the best of me. I at least wanted to see a collegiate croquet course, it would have been my only opportunity. We walked to the front lawn of the campus to find most everyone still there (dressed to the nines as you'll see) and recovering from the downpour, and setting up for the match.

We ran back to the van, grabbed our gear, and the event and following video is the result. A really fun assignment!
