Brief Summary:
Special Fire Force Company 8 is one of the main firefighting units in the anime and manga Fire Force (En’en no Shōbōtai) by Atsushi Ōkubo. It operates uniquely within the Special Fire Force, tasked with investigating and monitoring other Fire Force companies while fighting Infernals — humans transformed into living fire demons due to spontaneous human combustion. Unlike the other companies, Company 8 was founded independently and is known for its small size, limited resources, and strong sense of justice.

Main Members of Company 8
Akitaru Ōbi (Captain)
A former regular firefighter with no pyrokinetic abilities. Despite lacking powers, Ōbi is incredibly strong, dedicated, and inspiring. He serves as the team’s moral compass, often risking his life on the front lines. Ōbi believes in saving lives above all else and personally recruited most of the team.

Takehisa Hinawa (Lieutenant)
A Second Generation pyrokinetic and former soldier, Hinawa can control flames but cannot generate them. He specializes in firearms, manipulating bullets’ speed and trajectory. Though strict and stoic, he deeply cares for his comrades and maintains order in the company with his military precision.

Shinra Kusakabe (Fire Soldier, Third Generation)
The main protagonist, nicknamed “Devil’s Footprints” for his ability to shoot flames from his feet. Shinra’s goal is to become a hero and uncover the truth behind his family’s death in a fire — an incident linked to the mysterious Evangelist. As a Third Generation, he can create and control his own flames. Over time, Shinra develops rare powers like Adolla Burst and Adolla Link, making him central to the overarching conflict.

Arthur Boyle (Fire Soldier, Third Generation)
A self-proclaimed knight of the round table, Arthur can generate plasma from his hand and wield it as a sword. His power increases the more deluded he is by his knight fantasy, making his behavior eccentric but surprisingly effective in battle. Despite being comic relief, Arthur is one of the most powerful fighters in the force.

Maki Oze (Fire Soldier, Second Generation)
A former soldier and skilled Second Generation user, Maki manipulates existing flames, often forming fire spirits she affectionately names “Sputter” and “Flare.” Strong, kind-hearted, and often teased for her “gorilla” strength, Maki provides both muscle and emotional balance to the team.

Iris (Sister)
A nun from the Holy Sol Temple, Iris performs purification rites for Infernals during combat missions. Though not a fighter, her presence is vital for spiritual support. She has a mysterious connection to the Evangelist’s followers and eventually learns shocking truths about her origin.

Vulcan Joseph (Engineer)
A mechanical genius and the team's engineer, Vulcan creates and maintains Company 8’s advanced gear and vehicles. Initially distrustful of the Fire Force due to his family’s mysterious deaths, he joins Company 8 after witnessing their integrity. Vulcan plays a crucial role in developing tools to fight the Evangelist’s growing threat.

Lisa Isaribe (Support, formerly of White-Clad)
Once brainwashed into serving the Evangelist as “Feeler,” Lisa is a Third Generation who can manipulate flames in the form of tentacles. After being rescued by Vulcan and the team, she joins Company 8, trying to atone for her past.
