I travelled to Bradford to answer one simple question… where can you find the best curry in the city?

Often called the curry capital of the UK, Bradford is famous for its deep roots in Pakistani cuisine, bold spices, slow-cooked sauces, and family-run restaurants that have been perfecting their craft for generations.

In this video, I visit three legendary Bradford curry houses and eat some of the most iconic dishes the city has to offer.

First stop is Karachi, a historic Bradford institution that was famously visited by Rick Stein, where I try their legendary spinach and chicken karahi cooked in a traditional wok-style pan over high heat.

Next, I head to Kashmir Restaurant for a classic mutton madras, diving into rich, slow-simmered gravy, tender meat, and the kind of depth of flavour that only comes from decades of experience.

Finally, I visit The International, one of Bradford’s most beloved curry houses, to try desi lamb on the bone, chicken tikka masala, and their famous lamb chops that people travel across the UK to eat.

Along the way, I learn about Pakistani culture in Bradford, the city’s immigration history, and how food has played such a huge role in shaping Bradford’s identity.
