Overdose Awareness Day: Emma & Chris's story

When Emma experienced an accidental overdose, she was revived with naloxone. Naloxone is a vital medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and buy time for the emergency services to arrive.

For International Overdose Awareness Day, Emma spoke to us about this experience which both saved her life and turned it around. Emma's father Chris joined her to speak about how proud he is of his daughter's recovery.

Emma now volunteers for North Yorkshire Horizons, a Humankind-led service, using her experience to encourage others to carry naloxone with the aim of saving more and more lives.
