I had to put a collar on my cat to keep him from licking while he was recovering. It was difficult to put on the plastic cone, and my cat couldn't eat with it on, so I made a new collar out of a t-shirt.
It's easy to put it on, and you can adjust the neck size with the string. It's made soft so that it can function as a cushion/pillow.
