We set the long table on the L.A. River to celebrate its revival. In the past, the L.A. River was mostly ignored and often vilified. In 2007, L.A. unveiled a plan to revitalize the river and restore the watershed as a place for Angelenos to gather and connect. Our host farmer Alex Weiser is a steward of sustainability and biodiversity at his farm in Tehachapi, and brought some stellar Spring produce for our cadre of LA-area chefs. Chef Neal Fraser was our head wrangler; Neal is great and has performed in the OITF kitchen many times over the years, including our pop-up at Coachella. Austin Cobb came down from Manhattan Beach, where he helped cook the dinner on the sand last year. Zach Pollack brought his soulful Italian cooking from his popular spot in Silver Lake.
