This was event number 271 and had 359 runners, joggers or walkers attended. This obviously does not happen without the amazing volunteers that showed up and gave their time, there were 19 in total. Course Description

Our course on the Lowestoft Seafront is best described as a “one and three quarter lap”, all 5k is run on tarmac, concrete and firm gravel. The course is mainly flat although the biggest challenge comes in the form of an uphill slope (CEFAS Hill) that needs to be accomplished twice.

The route is marshalled throughout the course at all events, and our wonderful volunteers will cheer you on every step of the way.

The Start Line is situated opposite the East Point Pavilion, along the Lowestoft Promenade. There are toilet facilities here costing 20p to access.
The Finish Line is situated within the gardens of the Royal Wellington Esplanade.

Regardless of weather, a normal road running shoe will suffice for any time of the year.

Facilities

There are no changing facilities at this event.

Refreshments: Our designated cafe “Nemo’s” situated at the Claremont Pier opens from 9am.

Toilet facilities: There are various along the sea front and are usually opened around 8am. They can be found at one of the following:

East Point Pavilion - North end of the promenade although there is a small charge for this at ten pence per visit.

Kensington Gardens and Kensington Park.
Lower promenade, near to the South Lowestoft Lifeguard station.

There are also toilet facilities at our post event cafe Nemo’s although they can only be accessed after 9am.

Location of start

The run starts opposite the East Point Pavilion, along the Lowestoft Promenade.

Getting there by public transport

Bus information can be found on the First Group website.

Train timetables can be found on the Abellio Greater Anglia website.

Getting there on foot

From Lowestoft Bus Station, walk east towards London Road North turning right at the 02 mobile telephone store.
Walk directly through Lowestoft Town Centre passing the following: BHS, Marks and Spencer, Barclays Bank, Natwest Bank, McDonalds, Joseph Conrad.
Do not cross at the traffic lights for Lowestoft Train Station.
Cross at the second set of traffic lights heading south towards the Bascule Bridge.
Keep Left on the Bascule Bridge and bear Left at the Harbour Bar and Restaurant.
Keep Left heading up Marine Parade.
Turn Left at Passion nightclub, this taking you onto Lowestoft Promenade.
The Start line for Lowestoft parkrun will now be in sight.

Getting there by road

If using a SATNAV the nearest postcode is: NR33 0BS

To avoid getting lost please follow all traffic signs towards Lowestoft Seafront which is situated on the SOUTHSIDE of the Bascule Bridge.

Nearby landmarks include: Asda, The East Point Pavilion, The Claremont Pier and KFC.

You can either “pay and display” for an hour at the large Claremont Pier car park, or the small car park that is approximately 100 metres further up on Cliff Road, or park for a maximum of one hour, free of charge, along Marine Parade or London Road South.
