Gearwrench Bolt Biter Extraction Sockets [GOES BOTH WAYS]

Описание к видео Gearwrench Bolt Biter Extraction Sockets [GOES BOTH WAYS]

We first saw these Gearwrench Bolt Biter sockets at the SEMA show in 2018. Then again, at the SEMA show 2019, we got to try them again. This time, Gearwrench assured us that we would see these on the shelves in the coming days. Finally, we got our own set just a few months ago.

The engineering idea on the Bolt Biter bolt extractors seemed pretty solid, and it didn't seem that anyone else had a design like this. Gearwrench uses a straight flute design to grab the fastener. Most others use a directional flute, hence it only works in one direction. With the Gearwrench Bolt Biter sockets, you can not only remove the fastener, but you can also use the Bolt Biter to install the fastener as well. It's not typical that you'd reinstall a stripped fastener, but if you were in a pinch, this would work well.

After using them here in the shop, we're pretty impressed. It's obvious by the video that they definitely seem to grasp the heads tightly. It was also a great move to include the - (reduced) sizes to fit those really worn fasteners. The 8-piece set, including 7mm to 16mm (5/8") is less than $30 on Amazon. For a complete 28-piece set, you're going to pay close to $200. The larger sizes are more expensive. Gearwrench Bolt Biter sockets are backed by a lifetime warranty.
