पितृ पक्ष सितंबर महीने में प्रारंभ होंगे। हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, अश्विन मास की पूर्णिमा तिथि से पितृपक्ष आरंभ होंगे। पितृ पक्ष अश्विन मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की अमावस्या तिथि से कुल 16 दिनों तक मनाए जाते हैं। इस साल पितृ पक्ष 20 सितंबर से शुरू होकर 6 अक्टूबर तक रहेंगे। मान्यता है कि पितृ पक्ष में पितरों से संबंधित कार्य करने पर उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है। हिंदू धर्म में पितृ गण देवतुल्य होते हैं।
