This is a 6th century monumental but controversial building complex in Istanbul-the Hagia Sophia. A former Eastern Orthodox Church of the Byzantine Empire in the then city of Constantinople, it was converted to a mosque-Hagia Sophia Mosque by the great Muslim conquerer, Sultan Mehmed II or popularly known as Sultan Muhammad Al Fatih of the Ottoman Empire in 1453. This is a video footage captured during my visit to the historic mosque.
