Chennai Flood 2023: Amidst the flood-like situation in Chennai's West Tambaram CTO colony and Sasivaradhan Nagar area, residents grapple with rising water levels, resorting to boats for transportation. Gunasekaran, a long-term inhabitant of Sasivaradhan Nagar, expressed frustration, highlighting the recurring nature of the issue since 2017 and urging the government for a lasting solution. He recounted the distress of seeing his house's first floor submerged and emphasized the need for immediate governmental action. With approximately 100 individuals still stranded in Sasivaradhan Nagar pleading for assistance, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been actively engaged in rescue operations. Rathna Kumar, an NDRF Sub Inspector, reported their ongoing efforts, mentioning the rescue of nearly 20 people and the necessity for more assistance. The NDRF team received aid from the district administration, distributing essential food supplies to those affected by the floods.
