ISRO launched CMS-03, the heaviest communication satellite ever built and launched from Indian soil! Weighing over 4,400 kilograms, the satellite lifted off from Sriharikota aboard the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3) — a 3-stage launcher that uses an indigenous cryogenic 3rd stage developed entirely in India, a shining symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Also known as GSAT-7R, CMS-03 is part of India’s advanced GSAT-7 defence
communication series, built to power up the Indian Navy’s communication network.
It was launched into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) and will soon settle into a Geostationary Orbit, nearly 36,000 kilometres above Earth, providing constant coverage over the Indian Ocean Region and Indian landmass, boosting the Navy’s maritime domain awareness and strategic reach.
Beyond communication, it will also aid in precision warfare, enhancing navigation accuracy and missile targeting. With this launch, India takes another proud step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and space-based defence innovation.
