Sammy Davis Jr. Has been getting served to my YouTube feed like crazy lately. Not sure why because though I feel Frank Sinatra, Sammy, Dean… those “cats” were like a part of “the family” (lol). Hearing their voices growing up wasn’t a rare occurrence in the Gelso home. Great memories! As an Italian-American from one of the larger Italian immigrant parts of Pennsylvania, I wasn’t the only person I knew who could at least hum the words to the Rat Pack collection of recognizable hits. But I’e not type Sammy David Jr into the Google machine… Truly, I’ not sure Ive evet searched his name… 🤔

Tom Brady is in town.

Yeah, although I thoroughly enjoy and am so very proud the great coverage Evan Lazar and the Patriots team do over at and having contributors like Greg Bedard, Mike, Marv, Nick Quaglia… yeah, saying I’m proud of the coverage is an understatement.

As the owner of a New England Sports Network, () I recognize the significance of Tom Brady’s return to face the dynasty he helped to create. I know the demand for content and realize that the patriots content on CLNS allows us to have this fun, sorta not for profit library channel.

I get all that. I’m appreciative. We are blessed with great talent.

But as a fan… a silent observer with very limited football knowledge or interest? I’m all good with Tom Brady.

The ramp up to the week’s Sunday Night Primetime feature film (with too many commercials that you can’t skip) bordered on ridiculous. I’ve heard the reference, “game of the century” and thanked god we are only 2 decades in. I’ve heard “bigger then the super bowl” and that, I won’t dispute (yet).

But overall…

I’ve found the whole “return of the Brady” saga to be like my favorite bubble gum as a young scholar… fun in the beginning, inquisitive around midweek, and completely exhausted and confused by Sunday morning.

As a proud Boston implant, I’m torn on the whole Brady-lust, Belichick-blaming BS.

As a proud Boston implant who’s pissed off because his Celtics are still in the midst of a complete earth cracking drought (1 title since 1986), I’m kinda annoyed by the BS.

As a proud Boston implant who has had epic temper tantrums on our #Celtics network ( ) over the NBA allowing too much player movement, it brings on #BoomerRAGE like not often seen before.

Listen, I was appalled when some fans at the Garden booed Ray Allen. I’d never ever suggest or even contemplate fans booing Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium tonight. And guess what? They didn’t boo him, thank god.

But all week, it’s been ridiculous. Any business or social interaction this week resulted in a Brady reference of sorts. Meaningless stuff like, “got plans for Sunday?” Or statements like “this thing is going to be bigger then anything the city has ever seen sports wise!”

Really?

I’d ask people who they were rooting for and 7 out of 10 people would look at me like I just asked to see their vax card at a Trump rally. Haha. Seriously.

So, at the end of the day, as the sports world is glued to their phones or TVs, as my respected and hard working #Patriots beat team are burning the midnight oil to provide high quality, highly informative and engaging coverage of the New England Patriots, I’m taking a slurp of my Shrimp Cocktail at La Cancun, one of my many favorite Mexican restaurants in “Eastie.”

I’m not watching Tom Brady… it just adds to the effed up nightmare that the last 2 years have been.

Go Patriots,

Nick G.

PS - you def. clicked the bait 😆
