Keola Beamer (Nose Flute Song) at Henry Kapono’s Home On The Island with Friends Concert

This is a song I wrote of my love for Mauna Kea on Hawai’i Island. We lived in the little town of Kamuela at my grandfather’s home amidst the green pastures of the misty uplands.

At our little ranch house, the picture window opened to a breath-taking view of Mauna Kea – The White Mountain.

My mom wrote a story of when I was six years old and looking at the mountain. From that simple story she composed a beautiful oli (chant). Later I loved it so much, I used it as the beginning of my song. Sometimes the most simple things can be so beautiful.

Keola’s besutiful wife, Moanalani Beamer joins Keola with her beautiful hula.
