One year ago, I decided to test two foundation systems on my own house — steel piers in the front and concrete piers in the back.
Both reached 10,000 PSI, but the results were completely different.
The concrete piers went only 12–14 ft deep, while the steel piers reached 24 ft, penetrating the stable load-bearing strata.

After a full year, the difference is obvious:

Concrete pier area moved ½–¾ inch, doors now stick with seasonal changes.

Steel pier area moved less than ¼ inch, perfectly stable.

This simple test shows why depth and engineering matter — concrete piers stop inside the active zone, where soil keeps shifting, while steel piers go beyond it, offering long-term stability and peace of mind.
