On Sunday Nov 5, 2023 the Saleen Mustang #90-59 finally made its way to the local road course for its maiden shakedown. Car was a handful to say the least not to mention piloted by a seriously fatigued driver thats been off the course for a couple years.

Power was on par as expected and the big brake package did well albeit lacking rear bias. I feel the brakes can be tuned further via the wilwood bias valve but kinda a waste of time knowing the shocks on each corner are warn out. Which brings me to the shocks; when this car was purchased back in Japan it came fitted with 4way adj KYB's up front and single stage Tokiko's on the rear. Around town they felt ok but loaded up they are as sloppy as your neighbors hand me down kei office coilovers. I literally found myself braking really early on every corner all the while knowing the shocks had nothing to deliver. Oh well, this is what testing is all about and in my case on a vehicle which has been sitting a good chunk of its life!
