【震撼】全球最完整的晚更新世鯨魚化石一開始是如何被發現的? 臺灣史上最大規模的古生物化石發掘行動展開!《鯨魚谷:恆春頭溝鯨魚化石發掘紀行》第一季EP. 1:一切的起源 In The Beginning

2022年年初，YouTuber方塊酥(周文博)與恆春的化石獵人張玉穆(櫻木)，前往恆春臺地的頭溝進行化石採集與紀錄片的拍攝，過程中在河谷的深處發現了鯨魚骨骼化石的碎塊，並在峽谷的岩層中發現了更多的鯨魚骨化石。體認到有發掘與探索的學術價值，方塊酥帶回鯨魚骨骼化石的碎塊做簡單的清理，並將這個消息告訴了國立自然科學博物館的年輕古生物學者-楊子睿博士。

三個月後，楊博士邀請方塊酥與科博館研究團隊，加上來自德國巴伐利亞動物學蒐藏中心的訪問學者-Anneke博士，一同前往頭溝進行鯨魚化石的科學考察。在經過河道的中段時，來自香港的隊員-梁子儀(Jerry Leung)，在泥岩地層露頭中發現了四根鯨魚肋骨化石。

在這之後，臺灣史上最大規模的大型古生物化石發掘行動正式展開!

《鯨魚谷:恆春頭溝鯨魚化石發掘紀行》系列紀錄片，為臺灣史上首次大型古生物化石發掘的影像全紀錄，本紀錄片將帶領觀眾重回恆春臺地頭溝的鯨魚化石發掘現場，跟著我們的腳步，親眼見證這隻史前巨獸的完整發掘過程。
