Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this etrailer 18 inch long, two inch hitch extender. Now, this hitch extender will install into your two inch hitch receiver opening and extends your trailer hitch receiver opening out from the rear of your vehicle to avoid any obstacles. This will let you get clearance, or extra clearance for your trailer. It will even help let you mount your bike rack without having to remove your rear mounted spare tire.

It is a solid steel shank. If you notice, it has nice, black powder coat finish over the whole part to resist rust and corrosion. Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to secure it. Same way up here, whatever you put into the opening, requires a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. Now, those items are not included.

We sell those separately on our website. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. Application, again, this is designed to slide into a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. The hitch receiver opening up at the front here is gonna be a two inch by two inch size. Now, this does have a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds, which is stamped on the side here.

Maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. And one note I do wanna mention, which is also stamped on here, using this hitch extender will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50%, so you do wanna be aware of that. Now, to give you the extension length, which will be measured from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of this one, we get our tape measure. Center to center is gonna be right, you can see at 18 inches for the extension length. Overall length, from this end to this end, it's gonna be right at 23 5/8 inches.

Now, the distance from the center of this hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, gonna be right at three inches. And if we go from the center of the hitch pin hole to where this weld starts, it's also three inches. But that should do it for the review on this etrailer 18 inch long, two inch hitch extender..
