Welcome to the very first episode of the Safer Communities Podcast, and to our series on Romance & Relationship Fraud!
The following episodes were produced in conjunction with the Digital Safety and Fraud Prevention Team, whose role is to raise online safety and fraud awareness amongst our communities, businesses, and services across West Sussex.
We would like to thank our colleagues, and service users, at Victim Support Sussex, for collaborating with us on this series. Victim Support (www.victimsupport.org.uk/) is an independent charity dedicated to supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales.
Please find below some information on how to report instances of romance and relationship fraud, and fraud more generally, as well as access support in the aftermath.

Victim Support
If you or someone you know has been a victim of Romance fraud you can find further advice from Victim Support.
You can also use the live chat function on their website, call their 24/7 helpline on 0808 16 89 111, or visit My Support Space (www.mysupportspace.org.uk/).

Sussex Police
If you, or someone you know is vulnerable to Romance fraud please, please consider reporting this directly to the Police
Vulnerable victims – Call 101 or use textphone service on 18001 101
Always call 999 if there is a crime in action or immediate risk to life.

You can also report by calling 0300 123 2040 Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm

Scamalytics
You can report suspicions of Romance fraud anonymously to Scamalytics (scamalytics.com/report-scammers/?r=ssx1) via the online form. You can enter images, names, and details of potential Romance fraudsters.
