A schoolboy scramble event from 1970 held on Bulbarrow in Dorset, UK. I shot it on super 8 and recently had it digitised. A soundtrack has been added but is not original however it does come from that period. This was a time when fathers would cobble together bikes for their sons from whatever they could find in the garage.
The boys ages ranged from about 7 up to 16 I believe.
The motorbike manufacturers eventually made purpose built schoolboy scramble bikes which came to dominate the sport and against which ,sadly, the home made bikes couldn't compete.
