Uniden XTRAK pro uhf & Lightforce 30" Single Row VIPER LED Light Bar - HGT Next Gen Raptor Ranger Build!

This is the basic 12v gear I think every 4wd should have. A uhf radio and some sort of auxiliary lighting to assist with vision at night. When I sold the y62 I saved the Uniden XTRAK pro uhf. It is a great radio and way to good to give away. As for lighting after some assistance from facebook groups I decided that the Lightforce 30" Single Row VIPER LED Light Bar was the way to go. Mainly because they’re relatively inexpensive and all but the perfect size to fit behind the grill without any major modifications.

The Uniden XTRAK pro uhf installation. Nowadays installing a uhf is a relatively simple task. Especially the way I do it. As long as you know where and how you want to mount it.

There are a million different options when it comes to aerial mounting brackets, I decided to go with a Pirate Camp Co passenger side bonnet bracket. They are about as sleek and clean as you can get for the next gen rangers. It’s as simple as removing your bonnet nuts and placing the bracket and re bolting it.

When it come to the aerial I was very tempted to use my Uniden stumpy black fiberglass aerial but I decided I wanted to go with stealth sleek lines. I brought a RFI CD34-71-53 UHF CB (477 MHz) MOPOLE ANTENNA - MBC MOUNT 4 DB from gadget city. This thing is tiny and work really well for its size.
I mounted the base in the passenger foot well and ran an add a fuse to power it from the driver side fuse box. With the handpiece mounted in the passenger foot well also. This is a simple clean out of the way installation.
The Lightforce 30" Single Row VIPER LED Light Bar. After a lot of cool ideas from FB I decided to give this one ago. It is sleek and hardly noticeable behind the grill. Once the grill was removed it pretty much bolts straight in with just a few packers to space the brackets to where you need.

All light bar wiring harnesses have way too much wiring. And with the Raptor rangers auxiliary roof switches. It is really not required. I decided to clean it up and cut a heap out. Everything is now really short and clean all hidden out of the way. Oh do I love the thought that ford put into these aux switches. Every 4wd should come standard with these.

As for the performance from the Lightforce 30" Single Row VIPER LED Light Bar, well this really leaves something to be desired. Don’t get me wrong it definitely add something but it’s just not exceptional.

Overall I am happy with these simple 12v modifications but watch tis space I can see some brighter lighting coming in the future.
