Today I’m back in Fremantle where I take you through the Fremantle Markets where I meet a man who walks me through his wine spritzers which he’s making in the Swan valley. I try an assortment of samples while getting educated as to the process of making the drink.

I tell the the story of how I nearly met my maker in a fishing boat accident on Gauge Rhodes during the America’s cup in 1983 as I wander around the Fremantle harbor.

Sneaking around the streets of Fremantle I meet by accident an avid watcher of the channel and we chat about her travel experiences and whether traveling alone forces you to meet others on the road compared to traveling with a partner.

Finally I introduce the man who change my life as a teenager when he took me to his apartment to show me photos of people from around the world, exotic food, and stories from the hippie trail which he had completed a number of times. My love for travel can be traced directly to this 75 year-old artist and traveler named Wayne.
